About the artist

So, as I mentioned, I am a self-taught artist and live in Warwickshire, UK.

I have this inner desire and passion to paint, always have since I was little, when my parents bought me my first set of 'grown up' water colour paints....and to this day I have never stopped. It brings me so much joy and pleasure.

Yes, when the children were little and life was very hectic, I slowed off a bit and even now, I am a taxi driver to two beautiful teenagers, which is challenging at times.  However, my favourite place in the world is being with them, but (lol) my art comes a very close second.

So, getting back to it...I have this inner desire to paint beautiful vibrant paintings, that uplift the soul and the senses and my aim is to bring some joy to your walls with my paintings, uplift you and remind you of your inner strength and power.

When I am painting I get totally lost in my imagination, (don't ask me to help with homework), wait 'till I have 'mum' head back on!!

My Art is vibrant, freeing and full of energy.  It is based on feelings that are reflected by nature.  Each painting also has a deep emotional feel, an inner strength that comes from within, often due to an emotional event in life, but from deep within our souls, without shouting about it, we have the power to pull through and achieve great things.

I use nature as a guide as I love the purity of flora and fauna and just being in the natural world and how that gives you a joyful, uplifting spirit, and yes, I LOVE flowers!!

If you ever get the chance to get up close and personal with a flower in bloom, and actually look at the detail (I mean actually look closely) the petals uncurling, the stamen, the buds, the colours....that's when you realise that Mother Nature really is truly amazing.

My art often links to a moment in your life, a moment of realization, you have the strength within, an uplifting, joyful moment that you want to grasp and hold on to with both hands forever. It may have been a fleeting moment, but with a piece of my artwork on your wall that reflects that moment, my aim is that your feeling can be cherished forever.

Most of my work is acrylic on canvas, with an interplay of inks and acrylics and occasionally oils. I tend not to frame my Originals as I believe the painting doesn’t need it and can be hung on the wall as it is, so you will find all the edges are painted and therefore ready to hang. However, they can all be framed should you prefer, it's totally your choice.  You will generally find my prints framed though.

I have both Originals and high quality Giclee fine art prints available on selected pieces, which are the next best thing to the original Artwork.

Giclee Prints are made of high quality materials. These materials are designed to last for a long time and it is said can remain in good condition for over 200 years. In contrast standard prints are made of cheaper materials and can fade and deteriorate quickly, which is why I choose to use Giclee prints for my artwork.

When paintings remind you of something, a person, time or place or a feeling, then that is a perfect fit between artist and art lover.

I hope you enjoy my work.
